ALIGN Leadership Lab: Closing the Gap Between Priorities and Practice
A facilitated leadership-development experience for ambitious mid-career professionals whose responsibilities are growing faster than their opportunities to reflect. In one focused sitting, ALIGN helps participants close the gap between what they say matters and how they actually live and lead — then commit to one observable, supported action for the next 30 days.

Session length
90 minutes, one focused sitting
Group size
6–24 participants
Format
In person or virtual

The ALIGN framework
Five connected questions
Awareness and Learning surface the gap. Intention names it. Growth and Network turn it into an observable commitment with the conditions needed to follow through.
- A
Awareness
What is shaping my current direction and how I am operating?
- L
Learning
What is my experience teaching me?
- I
Intention
Given what I now see, what will I choose to prioritize?
- G
Growth
What will I practice differently?
- N
Network
Who or what will help me follow through?
Reflection to action
Examine. Identify. Act.
01
Examine
Awareness and Learning surface what is shaping your direction and what your recent experience is teaching you.
02
Identify
Intention compares what you say matters with evidence from your recent choices, naming one meaningful gap — or one area of alignment worth protecting.
03
Act
Growth and Network turn one clarified priority into an observable 30-day behavior with the support needed to follow through.
Inside the session
A 90-minute facilitated leadership experience
Participants move through the five questions in short guided segments — individual writing, pair and small-group conversation, and a closing synthesis. What each person writes stays theirs; only the final commitment is shared, and only if they choose.

Why ALIGN
Movement is not always direction
The issue is rarely a lack of talent, ambition, or motivation. Responsibilities can accumulate faster than opportunities to step back and examine what those experiences are producing.
Capable professionals can begin operating reactively, following inherited or outdated definitions of success, and repeating behaviors that worked in an earlier season. Daily choices can drift from stated priorities without anyone deciding that they should.
Movement without reflection can become direction by default.
Participant outcomes
What people leave with
- One factor currently shaping their direction and how they are operating
- One meaningful alignment gap or area of alignment worth protecting
- One concrete lesson from recent experience
- One clarified priority
- One observable 30-day behavior
- One support structure — a person, boundary, or resource — for follow-through
Who it is for
Mid-career professionals
Ambitious professionals whose responsibilities and achievements are growing faster than their opportunities to reflect.
Emerging leader cohorts
People advancing or leading informally who need space to examine what success and leadership mean now.
Intact leadership teams
Groups navigating greater complexity who need reflection without turning it into evaluation.
Professional associations
Conference and chapter audiences seeking a practical working session rather than a motivational talk.
Value for organizations
Development without evaluation
ALIGN gives organizations a practical way to invest in self-awareness, reflection, prioritization, intentional decision-making, behavior change, and follow-through.
Organizations receive aggregate measures of participant relevance, clarity, commitment, and follow-through. Individual reflections remain participant-owned.
After the session
Alignment is a practice, not an event
- Participants receive their completed Participant Guide within 24 hours, so the commitment stays visible
- A single check-in at the 30-day mark: how did the commitment go, and what did you notice?
- An optional 20-minute follow-up circle 30 days out for participants who want to reflect together
- Sponsors receive only aggregate themes — relevance, clarity, commitment, and follow-through — never individual reflections
